This post is for those of you who want step by step instructions on how to do this technique of flat ironing your hair.
When your flat ironing your hair its better to use a rat tail comb thats heat resistant so it can comb through the hair and you dont have to hold the hot hair while your ironing (burns are not cute!)
A great heat tamer spray is one my tresemme.. which you can get at walmart. If you have fine-medium hair that is just wavy and not super curly, then this is a great product for you and will work wonders 
if you have really curly hair thats course then I suggest using a cream like KMS Free Shape. KMS Free Shape is a hot flex cream, meaning that its activated by heat, has a built in heat protectant and it will smooth your hair out making your flat iron last way longer. This is great for my girlies who have curly hair cuz I know in summer months, if you wanna flat iron, then its really hard to keep it straight
Before you start flat ironing, remember that you never want to flat iron over any knots or tangles, so brush through your hair and get rid of any that you may have.
The flat iron that I used is by Rowenta (im not sure if this is available for purchase, my sister won it in a raffle and I took it from her hehe) and its 1 inch. You can use a curling iron thats wider but I personally prefer using a 1 inch, even though it takes a tiny little bit longer. I keep my heat setting on 410 degrees. Use ur discretion when you’re choosing a heat setting for your hair. The hottest heat setting doesnt always mean that its gonna be the BEST for your hair. If you have fine hair go for a lower heat setting, if u have medium go for a medium heat setting and if your hair is super course and curly, go for a higher heat setting. Also, when choosing a flat iron (if you dont have one already) make sure you get a flat iron that has different heat settings!
So to get started, I like to part my hair starting from the top of my ear, going to the back of my head. I take about 2 inch sections and I hold the flat iron vertically and over direct the hair towards the front. When you have the iron on your hair, go through the hair fast and multiple times if you need it. A common mistake that people make (that I once used to make too) is going through the hair really slowly. This isnt gonna make your hair any sleeker, its just going to damage it.. You gotta keep in mind that you’re using 410 degrees of heat on your hair.. thats insane! So, like I was saying, make sure you run the flat iron through your hair quickly, and multiple times if you need to. Work on the mid shaft and then work on the ends. You can slow down a little on the ends if you’d like but keep in mind that the ends are the most damaged part of our hair so you dont wanna slow down the flat iron there either.
When I get to the hair thats closest to my face, I like to bevel the flat iron so that I get a little volume at the roots. I dont do this to the back as much since the rest of the sections are going to be weighing it down either way. I start bevelling as I get to the higher sections of my hair

The comb that I used after the heat protectant was from Sephora — Not sure if they sell it anymore.. Its similar to a paddle brush just less bristles

I dont know if they have a Sallys Beauty Supply in the UK? I got my scissors from there
When buying scissors.. make sure you look for professional scissors.. I know they sell some cheaper “haircutting” scissors at drug stores but you want to make sure that they are professional (the better ones are a little more expensive but theyll last you way longer)

Thank you sweetheart! Any flat iron is good, just as long as its ceramic + gives u different heat setting options.. i dont prefer any brand really.. the most important things are ceramic + different heat settings

Hi Farah, I was wondering , how do you keep your hair straight during your sleep? Do you use a satin bonnet or something? Or do you have to straighten it a little in the morning? I have tried so many things and I can’t seem to keep my hair straight, I always find one or two waves in the morning. if I use a clip , then I get a dent. Makes me sick!! I try to keep away from heat but this way is hard. Do you have any tips? Thanks in advance
